All Roads Lead to the Olympic Games – Rio 2016
Billed as the greatest sporting event, the Olympic games comes round once every 4 years. For many sportsmen and women 5th to 21st August in Rio de Janiero, Brazil, will be the most important of their competitive lives. Billions of people around the world will be watching, nations will be willing their athletes to run faster, throw longer and reach their competitive peak. Most will do so through talent and training and a few will seek a competitive edge using less scrupulous methods.
After the Olympics, the Paralympics will see athletes with a range of physical disabilities, competing in various disciplines to win gold, silver or bronze medals for their countries.
We know African athletes will dominate the middle and long distance races but this is the Olympics and we hope to see break out athletes in other disciplines. We will be cheering these super athletes on to glory.
And of course we can’t forget the Olympic Refugee team, made up of 10 athletes from countries including, South Sudan, DRC and Ethiopia.
